Guppies are lively, colourful and friendly to beginners, which makes them a favourite with aquarium keepers across India. Guppy Island brings you a range of varieties along with the products you need to keep them healthy.

Looking after your new guppies
- Bring them home gently. Let the closed bag float in your tank for about 15 minutes, then mix in a little tank water before letting the fish out.
- Keep the water warm and steady. Around 24 to 28 °C suits guppies. Avoid big temperature jumps when you top up.
- Feed a little, twice a day. Only as much as they finish in a couple of minutes. Leftover food clouds the water.
- Change some water every week. Swap about a fifth of the water for clean, dechlorinated water at the same temperature.
- Keep more females than males. Two or three females for each male keeps everyone calmer.
